Career and background

Karen has over twenty years of experience leading design for enterprise and platform products in technically demanding and regulated domains. She has held senior design roles at Endor Labs, Tenable, Virsec, Roche, Dell, and HP, working closely with product and engineering partners to shape products from early ideas through long-term use.

Earlier in her career, Karen established a solid research foundation to inform product direction and decision-making. At Roche, she traveled extensively to work directly with clinicians and healthcare teams, shaping several 0→1 product visions grounded in real clinical workflows. At Tenable, her work focused on understanding how security teams assess risk and make decisions under pressure.

During her time at Dell and HP, Karen worked across global teams and traveled internationally to help adapt design systems to different cultural and organizational contexts. This experience shaped her approach to designing systems that scale while remaining usable and relevant across regions.

Across these roles, Karen has led work end-to-end—from defining the problem and setting direction to shipping products and evolving them over time.

Approach and perspective

Karen is known for calm, steady leadership and strong design judgment. She focuses on the core problem, makes tradeoffs clear, and keeps solutions intentionally simple. Rather than optimizing for surface polish, she prioritizes clarity, trust, and long-term usefulness.

She works closely with engineers and product partners, often at the system level, to ensure products remain understandable as complexity grows.

Current work

Karen currently leads UX at Endor Labs, where she designs AI-driven experiences for developer and security teams. Her recent work includes agentic interfaces, platform foundations, and workflows that help users understand and act on AI-generated results. She is also actively involved in internal innovation efforts, including hackathons and exploratory design work that inform future product direction.
